10 NU Students Awarded AVC Group Scholarship

On March 13, Nazarbayev University hosted an award ceremony for scholarship recipients of the AVC Charitable Foundation, along with the final stage of the AVC Hackathon, where student teams presented their projects. The event brought together representatives of AVC Group and Nazarbayev University.

Five students from the School of Mining and Geosciences and five students from the School of Engineering and Digital Sciences were awarded monthly scholarships for the spring semester in recognition of their strong academic performance, high motivation, and active involvement in university life.

“A university is ultimately judged by its graduates. We consistently receive positive feedback from companies employing our students. Therefore, we are pleased to see such strong interest from companies in supporting our students,” said Kadisha Dairova, Vice President for Student Affairs and International Cooperation at Nazarbayev University, while congratulating the scholarship recipients.

Following the award ceremony, the final round of the AVC Hackathon took place, during which students presented innovative solutions across several areas. These included the development of AI chatbots, the creation of artificial intelligence–based financial platforms, automation tools for calculating resources required for the maintenance of industrial equipment, and an AI platform for automated verification of project documentation.

The total prize pool of the competition amounted to 5 million tenge. The winning teams were Indian Corn (1st place), 88 (2nd place), and Toosya (3rd place).
