Nazarbayev University hosted the 4th large-scale NU Job Fair 2026, organized by the Career Advising Center. This year, the event brought together around 120 Kazakhstani and international companies, serving as a key platform connecting students and alumni with leading employers.
NU President Professor Waqar Ahmad highlighted the strategic importance of the event: “The Job Fair is a key instrument in fulfilling the university’s mission to prepare talent for the national and global economy. It is not just a job-hunting venue, but a platform of career opportunities aimed at unlocking the potential of our students and alumni.” He also shared a core insight for modern career building, urging students: “Don’t let your major restrict you.”
About 70% of participating companies represented STEM fields, including IT, engineering, energy, and the manufacturing sector. At the same time, employers offered a wide range of positions for graduates from diverse academic backgrounds. At the fair, students interacted directly with business representatives: they participated in express interviews, received professional feedback, and established valuable business contacts.
The event once again confirmed the industry’s high demand for university talent. According to statistics, 98% of NU graduates successfully secure employment within their first year, building careers both in Kazakhstan and abroad.
Special attention was given to the role of the alumni community, which now exceeds 12,000 people. Many of them returned to the fair in the status of employers, hiring new talent, which demonstrates continuity and the high level of business confidence in the quality of NU education.
“Nazarbayev University prepares specialists who are not only able to adapt to change but also become drivers of economic and societal development,” concluded Waqar Ahmad.
