On December 5, a ceremonial award presentation of the International “Volunteer of the Year – 2025” Award was held in Astana, dedicated to the International Volunteer Day and the launch of the International Year of Volunteers.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the participation of the National Volunteer Network.
This year, 118 applications were submitted across 15 categories, resulting in the selection of 46 laureates.
Nazarbayev University is proud to announce that Zhassulan Toleubekov, a first-year student of the School of Engineering and Digital Sciences, was named a laureate in the category “For Contribution to Environmental Protection and Conservation.” His work in environmental volunteering, active participation in conservation initiatives, and contribution to promoting environmental awareness among youth were highly recognized by the expert community.
