Dr. Nurxat Nuraje, Associate professor in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering, left a successful career in the U.S. to move to Kazakhstan and is now studying the future of energy. After completing his doctoral studies at the Sorbonne, Zhanat Kappassov, Assistant professor of the Department of Robotics Engineering, returned to Astana to build the Robotics Department from scratch with his colleagues. Now, he is involved in the development of tactile sensors. Ernazar Abdikamalov, Associate professor in the Physics Department and a former researcher at California Institute of Technology, is studying gamma-ray bursts at the NU Energetic Cosmos Laboratory. NU scientists discuss their scientific achievements and the potential of domestic science with Forbes Kazakhstan.
