This annual event serves as a platform to strengthen the ties between the university and its alumni, featuring a variety of activities and opportunities for networking and engagement.
One of the key moments was the Town Hall session with NU President Professor Waqar Ahmad, which was streamed live for those unable to attend in person or who were located abroad. During the session, alumni expressed their gratitude to NU Provost Dr. Ilesanmi Adesida for his significant contributions to enhancing alumni relations, presenting him with a commemorative gift.
As part of the reunion program, three panel discussions were organized by the Graduate Schools Alumni Associations. These discussions covered important topics such as entrepreneurship in information technology, youth leadership, and the role of change agents in sustainable development. Prominent alumni participated in these panels, sharing their expertise and insights.
The event concluded with an awards ceremony, where alumni were honored in various categories: Researcher of the Year – Aidana Tleuken, Outstanding Woman of the Year – Nazgul Baitemirova, International Alumni of the Year – Amna Riaz Khawaja, Social Impact of the Year – Saule Kassymova, Educator of the Year – Altyngul Taibassarova, and Philanthropist of the Year – Nurassyl Jarbassov, among others. Twenty-four alumni were also recognized for their active involvement in mentorship and volunteer activities.
A charitable raffle held during the event raised funds for the Alumni Relief Scholarship Fund. The reunion concluded with a group photo and the sealing of a time capsule, which will be opened in 2030 as a symbol of NU’s enduring legacy and community.
