All school graduates and their parents worry about applying to a university. To avoid misunderstanding, NU would like to inform about changes in the admission rules for Foundation and Bachelor’s programs for the 2024-2025 academic year, as well as offer a timeline.

The university notes that it has always welcomed and continues to welcome graduates from all schools in Kazakhstan and abroad, based on the principles of meritocracy and academic achievement.

Unlike last year, the application period for Foundation and Bachelor’s programs this year began simultaneously – on October 16. Starting this year, it was decided to combine the application process for both programs in order to simplify the registration process, reduce the number of application fees, and increase applicants’ chances.

Starting this year, having applied once, an applicant will be considered by a unified admission commission for 2 programs at the same time. Now, the admission results for both programs will be released simultaneously, eliminating the need to wait for each result.

Also, in 2024, it is planned to complete the application procedure at the end of March, three weeks earlier than previously. Thus, if successful, applicants will receive an invitation from the university in May, and not in July as before. The release of the results in May will allow those who did not get into NU to participate in the national competition for a scholarship based on the UNT results and enroll in other universities in the country.

There are five applicant categories overall, which differ in the subject exam but are all equivalent. Applicants choose the category that suits them the most. Moreover, NU accepts only final certificate results for certain categories. To register for the 2024-2025 academic year applicants within the SAT/ACT, IB Diploma and A-level/NIS Grade 12 Certificate categories must have final exam results by March 27, 2024.

The University notified about these changes on its official website before the start of the application period.

NU also informs prospective students that online application for the Foundation and Undergraduate programs for NUET category has been EXTENDED until December 7, 2023 (12.00 noon Astana time).

Foreign applicants can submit their documents up until February 29, 2024.

The rest of the Kazakh citizens can apply until March 27, 2024.
