Eight NU Scholars Receive “Best Researcher” Award

On December 30, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan announced the results of the 2025 annual “Best Researcher” award. Following a competitive selection process, 50 scientists representing research institutes, higher education institutions, and scientific units of various organizations were recognized as laureates. Among the awardees are eight researchers from Nazarbayev University.

The recipients from NU include Associate Professor Aishuak Konarov from the School of Engineering and Digital Sciences, Associate Professor Ardak Kashkynbayev from the School of Sciences and Humanities, Staff Scientist Alexander Arbuz from the Office of Research Core Facilities and High-Performance Computing, as well as five Leading Researchers from the National Laboratory Astana at NU: Ayaulym Belgibayeva, Batukhan Tatykayev, Bauyrzhan Umbayev, Dauren Yerezhepov, and Olzat Toktarbaiuly.

The award was established under the Law “On Science and Technology Policy” and is one of the systematic measures of state support for scientists implemented by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan. Its purpose is to recognize researchers who have made significant contributions to the development of science and technology and to encourage research activities.

We congratulate the NU researchers on this high-level recognition from the state and wish them continued success in their scientific and research endeavors!
