The 5th session of the Youth Сouncil of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-building measures in Asia (CICA) was attended by vice-minister of information and social development Alexander Danilov, executive director of the CICA Secretariat Kairat Sarybay, vice president of NU Khadisha Dairova, representatives of youth communities and government agencies in Qatar, Jordan, Israel, Palestine, Uzbekistan, Iran, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, China, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Thailand, Bangladesh, Iraq, as well as representatives of international organizations UNDP, TurkPA.
Noting the successful activity of the Youth council, vice-minister of Information and public development Alexander Danilov offered to organize a virtual platform for interaction. “One of the most pressing issues is to update and restart the structure of youth resource centers and reboot youth policy councils under the akims. We want to move away from formalism, approach the problematic discussion of issues and involve those young people ready to change reality,” Danilov noted.
NU’s vice president Kadisha Dairova, speaking at the forum, also believes in listening to and hearing young people. “We urge: don’t solve problems for young people – involve them in solving these problems. This is our motto. You don’t have to shower them with compliments, but cooperate and work with them. Yes, we will not solve all the problems facing our youth today. Still, I hope this meeting is a great networking opportunity, establishing future cooperation,” said Kadisha Dairova.
During the plenary and four-panel sessions, participants discussed youth and student exchange programs, countering youth radicalization, and measures to prevent suicide and drug addiction among youth.
As a result of the meeting, participants agreed to intensify the dialogue and partnership between CICA and youth organizations, as well as to support the participation of youth communities in solving current problems.
