The ceremony spotlighted the contributions of the Academy’s new full members, lauded for their pivotal roles in advancing science in Kazakhstan. The gathering drew an array of distinguished attendees, including Darkhan Ahmed-Zaki, Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education, Azamat Kaldybekov, Deputy Akim of Almaty, senior academicians, university and research institute leaders, young scientists, representatives from business and industry, and media.
Based on a neural network, this project is the basis of Kazakh Chat GPT. It marks a pivotal milestone in Kazakhstan’s journey into the global artificial intelligence (AI) arena.
The forum featured thematic sessions addressing key topics such as the application of artificial intelligence, innovations in agricultural sector, breakthroughs in biomedicine, the transformation of the educational environment, and support for young scientists. These discussions captivated participants, fostering a constructive dialogue among scientists, business leaders, and government representatives.
According to the decision of the General Assembly of Academicians and in accordance with the election rules approved by the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Order No. 457, dated September 23, 2024), the title of Academician was conferred upon eight scientists.
Dedicated to the 125th birth anniversary of renowned Kazakh scientist and academician Kanysh Satpayev, the event gathered over 1,000 young researchers from Kazakhstan, including those excelling in international scientific circles. Attendees presented innovative research and engaged in discussions on the country’s current state of scientific development.

Zhazira Agabekova, Assistant Professor of NU School of Sciences and Humanities, and Yelizaveta Kamilova, NU Teaching and Learning Librarian, presented the Catalogue of Gender Education Resources and the Kazakh-English Explanatory Dictionary of Gender Terms. These works were published under a three-year project titled “Scientific concept of gender education in higher education institutions of Kazakhstan: theoretical and methodological foundations” – a joint project of NU, KazZhenPU and ENU, funded by Kazakh’s Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
