On December 5-9, 2022, the NU Library, in collaboration with the Association of Universities Libraries of the Republic of Kazakhstan, will hold a training seminar “Modern Library of a Higher Educational Institution: Management, Resources, Technologies and Forms of Service”, which is held annually as part of the School of Library Technologies in order to improve the skills of employees libraries of higher educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The topics of the seminar-training include:Guarantor of the success of the university; The library - an active participant in the research program of the university;The participation of the library in the management of research data; The library - the mediator between information and educational inclusion; Project activities of the university library; Marketing tools in library practice.

School of Humanities and Sciences of NU convened The 1st Annual Eurasian Conference on Humanities and Social Sciences with the conference theme "Tradition and Innovation in Eurasia" on 24-26 November 2022. The opening session was a conversation between a great-granddaughter of the former First Secretary of the USSR Communist Party Nina Khrushcheva, professor of international relations at The New School in New York City, and Maria Rybakova, Assistant professor in the Department of Languages, Linguistics, and Literatures at NU.

“Tradition and Innovation in Eurasia”: First Eurasian Conference held at NU

School of Humanities and Sciences of NU convened The 1st Annual Eurasian Conference on Humanities and Social Sciences with the conference theme “Tradition and Innovation in Eurasia” on 24-26 November 2022. The opening session was a conversation between a great-granddaughter of the former First Secretary of the USSR Communist Party Nina Khrushcheva, professor of international relations at The New School in New York City, and Maria Rybakova, Assistant professor in the Department of Languages, Linguistics, and Literatures at NU.

On the 17-18 of November 2022, NUGSE Professor Naureen Durrani contributed to the conference «Family, demographic and gender policy at a new stage of development of Kazakhstan». The conference was organized by the National Commission for Women’s Affairs, Family and Demographic Policy under the President of Kazakhstan, together with the Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan and UN Women.

Gender equality in education

On the 17-18 of November 2022, NUGSE Professor Naureen Durrani contributed to the conference «Family, demographic and gender policy at a new stage of development of Kazakhstan». The conference was organized by the National Commission for Women’s Affairs, Family and Demographic Policy under the President of Kazakhstan, together with the Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan and UN Women.

Dear NU community, It is our pleasure to invite you to participate in the II Republican Forum of Health Managers titled "Landmarks of future challenges" organized by the Kazakhstani Association of Health Managers with the support of the NU Graduate School of Public Policy; the World Health Organization, as well as the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Forum aims to create a platform for senior health managers, health authorities and researchers to discuss the latest trends in healthcare management, and exchange knowledge and skills in various areas such as health financing; risk management, IT and marketing in the healthcare system; patient-centred services, effective HR management, quality management and others.

NU SEDS students' project is called «Short-term and long-term forecasting of electricity consumption for efficient energy distribution and expansion of existing systems». As winners of the National Student Energy Challenge-2022 competition, the students received $4,000 in funding.
