Presenters came from several Kazakhstani universities (KazGUU, Almaty Management University, Eurasian National University, NU) and from several international universities such as Ada University in Azerbaijan, Albert Ludwig's University in Freiburg (Germany), Denison University, Indiana University (USA), the University of Nottingham (UK), Ulster University (UK), HSE University in Moscow (Russia), University of San Pablo (Spain), CEU, and the University of Cantabria (Spain).

NU (NU) proudly announces the successful conclusion of the 2023 AAHCI Central Asia Regional Meeting, held on May 26-27, 2023 at the NU School of Medicine in Astana, Kazakhstan. This prestigious event, co-organized by NU in collaboration with the Alliance of Academic Health Centers International (AAHCI) and Corporate Fund “University Medical Center” (UMC), brought together academic health centers from the region and around the globe.

NU School of Medicine Hosts Successful 2023 AAHCI Central Asia Regional Meeting

NU (NU) proudly announces the successful conclusion of the 2023 AAHCI Central Asia Regional Meeting, held on May 26-27, 2023 at the NU School of Medicine in Astana, Kazakhstan. This prestigious event, co-organized by NU in collaboration with the Alliance of Academic Health Centers International (AAHCI) and Corporate Fund “University Medical Center” (UMC), brought together academic health centers from the region and around the globe.

On March 28-29, the Conference of the Sustainability Living Lab Program was held with the participation of representatives of higher educational institutions of Kazakhstan. The Sustainability Living Lab (SLL) program is implemented by the Office of Sustainable Development of NU in cooperation with the “National Conservation Initiative” Corporate Fund with the support of Chevron.

NU Supports Sustainable Development and Green Projects of students

On March 28-29, the Conference of the Sustainability Living Lab Program was held with the participation of representatives of higher educational institutions of Kazakhstan. NU, Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology (KICT), the Kazakh Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development, and Republican Union of Designers of Kazakhstan signed a Memorandum of Cooperation at the NU campus. The Memorandum will expand the Kazakh-Korean strategic partnership, the parties believe.

NU, Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology (KICT), the Kazakh Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development, and Republican Union of Designers of Kazakhstan signed a Memorandum of Cooperation at the NU campus. The Memorandum will expand the Kazakh-Korean strategic partnership, the parties believe.

The Kazakh National Testing Center’s representatives and its regional branches’ directors visited the NU Graduate School of Education. During the meeting, Professor Michael Mаcoelle, Vice-dean for Research of NUGSE, spoke about the School’s main activities, and Balzhan Bliskeldinova, the Administrative Director of the CPS covered in detail the process of conducting entrance exams to NU.

A group of physicists led by NU Assistant Professor Viktor Brus proposed a novel high-performance and radiation-resistant UV-vis-NIR heterojunction photodiode as part of their research project launched in January 2022 with a grant from NU. Typically, the process of combining different semiconductor materials with unique properties leads to a decrease in the detectivity and response time of heterojunction diodes.
