On October 28, the BIG – business idea generator competition for the presentation of the best business and digital ideas among students of NU, organized by the NU Research and Innovation System in cooperation with EY, was held at the Technopark of Astana Business Campus. As part of the celebration of the 25th anniversary of EY in Kazakhstan, there was held a competition for the best business and digital ideas for EY among students of the NU.

Research group of the Energetic Cosmos Laboratory under supervision of Nobel Laurеate in Physics George Smoot firstly obtained a temperature near absolute zero (273. 15 C) in a cryogenic refrigerator at NU.

The sports ground was solemnly opened in the university with the Bank of Astana. The main features are: Work Out (outdoor sports ground) and Street ball (ball court).

NU thanks all the visitors who joined for the Open House Day on 30th September 2017. NU opened its doors for more than 2000 visitors to explain programs and give useful tips on application process.

Almaty hosted the awarding ceremony of the Top Springer Author independent award in the field of science and technology, founded by Springer Nature, largest international publishing company. This year, NU won “The Most Published Organization” nomination, and scientists from NU Zhumabay Bakenov and Aliya Kuzhabekova were awarded in the Top Springer Author “Technology” category.

On September 28-29, 2017, the first joint seminar of NU Registrar’s Office and the Kazakh National Research Technical University named after K. I.

During the meeting, the Head of State emphasized the need in creating conditions for further development of Kazakhstan’s science and supporting of young scientists in particular, according to akorda. kz.

On September 6, 2017 the Canon company held a competition with the theme “Energy of the Future” in Almaty. The awarding ceremony took place in the Austrian pavilion at Expo-2017 in Astana.
