Almaty hosted the awarding ceremony of the Top Springer Author independent award in the field of science and technology, founded by Springer Nature, largest international publishing company. This year, NU won “The Most Published Organization” nomination, and scientists from NU Zhumabay Bakenov and Aliya Kuzhabekova were awarded in the Top Springer Author “Technology” category.

On September 28-29, 2017, the first joint seminar of NU Registrar’s Office and the Kazakh National Research Technical University named after K. I.

On July 26, NU senior management hosted University Alliance of the Silk Road (UASR) delegation. The delegates made a visit to NU to learn about its recent developments and discuss collaboration within the Alliance.
On February 19, 2016 Cornell Law School hosted the Cornell International Law Journal’s Symposium: The Rule of Law in Central Asia. This Symposium was conducted in partnership with NU.

On July 19, 2017, NU hosted a visit of the delegation from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University headed by the President of PolyU, Professor Timothy W. Tong.
It is with great sadness that we announce that our friend and colleague, Professor Elijah Kehinde, Professor of Surgery in the NU School of Medicine, and his wife, Dr Funmi Kehinde, and their two daughters Mojoyin and Grace passed away on July 14. According to the RK Ministry of Internal Affairs Emergency committee, their deaths were the result of a fire in their apartment.
