On June 19, 2018, a ceremonial handover of the equipment from Alageum Electric to the joint Laboratory of Power System and High Voltage was held at NU. The laboratory, as an educational platform, will be used to provide practical classes for Electrical and Engineering Department students, School of Engineering.

This Spring NU selected best students from School of Engineering and School and Science and Technologies to study in the summer semester at the University at Buffalo, New York State, United States of America. As a result, top 38 undergraduate students, 17 from School of Engineering and 21 Science and Technologies were granted with customized program at the University at Buffalo.

On June 20, 2018 the NU Library held an author talk with Gulnara Bazkhkenova, a Kazakhstani journalist and columnist for Esquire Kazakhstan on her book Just Do Not Say It’s Too. Gulnara Bazhkenova spoke about how she collected materials for the book.

On June 7-8, 2018 NU hosted a visit of the delegation from Renmin University of China headed by the Vice President Professor Wu Xiaoqiu. Professor Wu Xiaoqiu gave a speech at the VII annual Eurasian Higher Education Leaders Forum’s (EHELF) session on “Best practices implemented by Universities” and met with NU leadership.

On 2-6 April 2018, under the Staff Mobility program, NU held a series of lectures by Professor V. V.

On June 7-8, 2018, the VII Eurasian Higher Education Leaders’ Forum (EHELF) dedicated to innovating higher education in the age of disruption took place at NU. EHELF is an annual forum that seeks to bring leaders in the field of education together to debate, and participate in lively discussion on issues faced by higher education leaders around the world.

On June 6, 2018, a video with the false title was posted on Mukhtar Ablyazov Youtube channel and the title has no connection to the content of the video. A deliberately false title brings damage to the reputation and brand of NU.

On May18-19, 2018, the “III Annual Conference on Academic Integrity and Internationalization”, organized by NU and the KAZGUU Higher School of Economics named after M. Narikbaev (and with the support of the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy), took place in Astana.

On 17 and 18 of May, 2018, within the framework of Astana Economic Forum “Global Challenges Summit 2018” (AEF), NU hosted a series of meetings with key speakers from the AEF event. Students, teachers, and staff had an opportunity to attend 16 public lectures given by well-known experts and entrepreneurs: the founder of Shazam – Chris Barton, the famous film director – Krzysztof Zanussi, the gerontologist and mathematician – Aubrey de Gray, and many others.
