Nazarbayev University Graduate School of Business (NUGSB) welcomed 50 participants of the international Kellogg-HKUST Executive MBA programme. From 14 to 18 September, business leaders and executives from around the world took part in a residency at NUGSB, exploring Kazakhstan’s economy, investment landscape and leading companies.
The Kellogg-HKUST Executive MBA is a joint programme offered by the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and HKUST Business School. It brings together business owners, CEOs, board members and senior executives from around the world, representing industries such as banking and finance, investment, asset management, retail, consulting and others. The programme has been ranked first in the Financial Times Global Executive MBA Ranking 12 times.
The Kazakhstan residency combined academic sessions at NUGSB with visits to leading companies and organizations, including Baiterek, the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC), Astana Hub, ERG, Halyk Bank and BI Group. Participants gained first-hand insight into Kazakhstan’s economy, the development of its financial and technology sectors, and the country’s business environment.
A panel discussion featuring NUGSB alumni working in entrepreneurship, finance, technology, investment and logistics was also part of the programme. Together with Kellogg-HKUST Executive MBA participants, they discussed investment and venture capital, artificial intelligence and digital transformation, logistics, as well as trade and business ties with China and Hong Kong. The session provided an opportunity for professional exchange and the development of new business connections.
By hosting residencies for leading international programmes such as the Kellogg-HKUST Executive MBA, NUGSB strengthens its global professional and academic connections while providing the international business community with a deeper understanding of Kazakhstan.
