Two NU graduate schools have received new decisions on the international accreditation and re-accreditation of their academic programs in public policy and business education.
On Sept. 23, NU’s Graduate School of Public Policy received its first accreditation for its PhD in Public Policy from the European Association for Public Administration Accreditation (EAPAA). EAPAA also reaccredited the School’s Master in Public Policy and Master in Public Administration programs, which were first accredited in 2019.
EAPAA’s accreditation process emphasizes academic multidisciplinarity, internationalization and research-based education. It includes peer review by experienced academics and considers each program’s context, profile and strategic objectives against EAPAA standards and the European Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in Higher Education.
Since its launch in 2012, GSPP has maintained a strategic partnership with the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore. The School’s degree offerings include the Master in Public Policy, Master in Public Administration, PhD in Public Policy and Doctor of Public Management.
NU’s Graduate School of Business has received five-year reaccreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA) and the Business Graduates Association (BGA) for its MBA and Executive MBA programs, following a review by the International Accreditation Advisory Board of AMBA & BGA. First accredited in 2023, NUGSB retains its standing with the two organizations. AMBA accredits postgraduate management programs worldwide, while BGA recognizes business schools for responsible management and positive societal impact.
“This reaccreditation is a strong recognition of the progress NUGSB has made in building a business school with both national relevance and international engagement,” said Dean Jozef Konings. “We are proud of the role our faculty and staff play in creating a rigorous learning environment for our students and connecting Kazakhstan’s business community with global perspectives and expertise.”
NUGSB’s international academic network includes a long-standing strategic collaboration with Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and an expanding partnership with HKUST Business School, including a double-degree Bachelor in Eurasian Business. The School also offers programs in business administration, economics and finance.
The reaccreditation follows the QS Global MBA Rankings 2027, in which NUGSB’s MBA was the highest-ranked fully English-taught MBA in Central Asia.
Together, the latest accreditation decisions provide external benchmarks for the quality of NU’s graduate programs and reflect the University’s continued engagement with international academic standards, research and partnerships.
