Vice President of Nazarbayev University, Dr. Gulmira Qanay, has been awarded the Principal Fellow (PFHEA) status by Advance HE, a UK-based organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of higher education worldwide.
Advance HE confers four levels of professional recognition: Associate Fellow (AFHEA), Fellow (FHEA), Senior Fellow (SFHEA), and Principal Fellow (PFHEA), the highest level, which has been awarded to Dr. Qanay.
Gulmira Qanay brings extensive experience in both academic and administrative leadership and has made significant contributions to the development of higher education in Kazakhstan. Prior to her appointment as Vice President of Nazarbayev University, Dr. Qanay served for four years as the Rector of the Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University. She holds a PhD in Education from the University of Cambridge.
Previously, Nazarbayev University Vice Provost for Academic Planning and Budget, Dean of the Graduate School of Education, Dr. Aida Sagintayeva, also received Principal Fellow recognition. In addition, 14 faculty members of the university have been awarded Senior Fellow and Fellow statuses by Advance HE.
