The British Educational Training and Technology Show, a global hub for educational technology, annually features over 600 innovative exhibits, thought-provoking discussions, and workshops led by EdTech experts. Taking place in London from January 22–24, 2025, this year’s event gathers thousands of educators and innovators to explore cutting-edge solutions shaping the future of education.

Key highlights of the partnership will include supporting NU staff to apply for Senior and Principal Fellowships, developing new teaching programs with the goal of achieving Advance HE accreditation in 2025, and building on a successful seven-year partnership that has included delivering the Professional Certificate of Academic Practice and providing researcher development support. Professor Waqar Ahmad, President of NU, stated: “This new partnership with Advance HE illustrates NU’s commitment to our role as the leading university in Central Asia – in teaching as well as research.
The broad-ranging strategic partnership covers collaborative research, conferences and symposia, professional development, student exchange, dual and joint degrees and collaborative doctorates. Currently, the partnership is focusing on the areas of humanities and social sciences, but there are also prospects of collaboration in environmental sciences, engineering, physical and biological sciences, and medicine.
The forum focused on “A Fresh Outlook on Drug Discovery and Personalized Medicine,” offering a hands-on workshop and brainstorming sessions designed to explore cutting-edge advancements in healthcare. The forum brought together around 30 students from AUA member universities, including South Korea, Thailand, Japan, Malaysia, and others.
Discussions centred on joint programs, faculty exchanges, and research opportunities, with the School of Humanities and Social Sciences highlighted as a key area for partnership. “We have been trying to identify potential key strategic partners in different parts of the world and Central Asia has become very prominent recently.
The delegation engaged in the exchange of ideas with NU leadership, deans, and professors, fostering discussions on potential areas for cooperation in research, student mobility programs, and joint academic initiatives. The visit highlighted the importance of international collaboration in higher education and explored various opportunities for partnership between U.
This landmark event will be held in Central Asia for the first time and will bring together leading experts from higher education, public policy and industry to discuss key issues in the development of higher education in the region.
