The American Library Association (ALA) has included Voices from the Steppe: A Thematic Sourcebook of the Kazakh Steppe and the South Urals in the list of the best historical materials of the past two years. The authors of the publication are Meiramgul Kussainova, an Assistant Professor at Nazarbayev University, and her former colleague, Danielle Ross, an Associate Professor at Utah State University.

In their article The AI Genie Is Out of the Bottle – Now What?, published in Times Higher Education, NU experts Aida Nuranova and Timothy Wawn explore the inevitable integration of generative AI into higher education. To help institutions adapt, they propose strategies such as incorporating AI into assessments to foster critical thinking and establishing clear ethical guidelines for its use.

The British Educational Training and Technology Show, a global hub for educational technology, annually features over 600 innovative exhibits, thought-provoking discussions, and workshops led by EdTech experts. Key highlights of the partnership will include supporting NU staff to apply for Senior and Principal Fellowships, developing new teaching programs with the goal of achieving Advance HE accreditation in 2025, and building on a successful seven-year partnership that has included delivering the Professional Certificate of Academic Practice and providing researcher development support. The broad-ranging strategic partnership covers collaborative research, conferences and symposia, professional development, student exchange, dual and joint degrees and collaborative doctorates. Currently, the partnership is focusing on the areas of humanities and social sciences, but there are also prospects of collaboration in environmental sciences, engineering, physical and biological sciences, and medicine.
