Silk Road Universities Alliance Members Met in Astana

On July 4, 2024, Kadisha Dairova, NU Vice President, and Aliya Kaimoldinova, Director of the Department of Internationalization, took part in an international symposium organized by the Silk Road Universities Alliance within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s Council meeting. The Alliance members discussed cooperation in higher education and the integration of production.

Aisulu is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the Kavli Institute for Nanoscience at the California Institute of Technology. She received a BS in chemical engineering from NU in 2015, an MS in chemical engineering from MIT in 2016, and a PhD in chemical engineering from Stanford University in 2021.

Three startups from Central Asia have become part of one of the most innovative communities in the world—Stanford University. Among them is Kazakhstani Arlan Biotech, a startup by NU alumni Bolat Sultankulov and Dauken Seitkali, which has been successfully selected for the prestigious Stanford StartX Accelerator.

Three startups from Central Asia have become part of one of the most innovative communities in the world—Stanford University. Among them is Kazakhstani Arlan Biotech, a startup by NU alumni Bolat Sultankulov and Dauken Seitkali, which has been successfully selected for the prestigious Stanford StartX Accelerator.

NU again is in the lead in Central Asia and Kazakhstan, surpassing all other universities by several hundred points. Earlier, NU for the first time entered the TOP 30% of research-intensive universities in the world according to THE, becoming a leader in Central Asia and the Caucasus.

On April 30-May 2, an NU delegation visited leading universities and schools in Uzbekistan to strengthen ties and build bridges of cooperation between the two countries. Over the three days, the delegation met with representatives of the Kazakh Embassy in Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Higher Education and Innovation of Uzbekistan, and the management of educational institutions, including the National University of Uzbekistan, University of World Economy and Diplomacy, Tashkent Medical Academy, New Uzbekistan University, OXUS University, and others.

On April 30-May 2, an NU delegation visited leading universities and schools in Uzbekistan to strengthen ties and build bridges of cooperation between the two countries. ValEUs, the Research and Education Network on Contestations to EU Foreign Policy, led by the Europa University Viadrina, brings together 18 higher education institutions in 17 countries across five continents.
