NU Day in Almaty

Within the framework of this 3-day event, the participants had the opportunity to learn about NU’s Master’s and Doctoral programs, how to apply, gain admission, student grant opportunities, about the available campus facilities and educational conditions of each program. Professors of NU held a series of lectures and master classes, and shared their discoveries in various fields such as artificial intelligence, medicine, oil engineering, business, education, economics, Eurasian Studies, and PSIR.

“Poet and his Muse”. The theatrical performance of NU students

On November 7, 2019, NU held a literary and theatrical evening entitled “Aqyn zhane onyg muzasy” (Poet and his Muse) dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the great poet Ilyas Zhansugurov. First and fourth-year students[1] from SSH, SEDS, and SMG presented a theatrical performance based on the famous poem “Kuishi” by Ilyas Zhansugurov and the tragedy “Khan Kene” by Mukhtar Auezov.

Open Access Week – 2019 at NU

We are celebrating the annual Open Access Week aiming to increase the interest in making scientific works, research ideas and other intellectual products freely available for anyone to use, adapt, distribute, translate and share with no or very minimal restrictions. Social project Makeathon “TOM: NUR-SULTAN” started at NU

On October 25, 2019, NU holds the second stage of the IХ TOM Makeathon. At this stage, the seven teams of 35 participants meet a month after PreTOM with a completed idea and its implementation into a prototype.

First round of online registration (early admissions) to the undergraduate program at the NU without completion of the NU Foundation Year Program (Direct Admission) is open from October 21, 2019 until February 16, 2020 (inclusive). Regular admissions will be available from February 17 until April 30, 2020.

Institutional Research Forum was held at NU

On October 10 and 11, NU (NU), in collaboration with KIMEP University, organized the first Institutional Research Forum titled “Using Data to Support Academic Quality, Planning, and Decision-Making in Higher Education”. About 80 educational professionals involved in data collection and analysis and in the use of data and information for quality assurance and decision making in higher education attended the event.

How was YRA created?Young Researchers Alliance (YRA) was created on April 18th in 2018, by enthusiastic early career researchers working and studying at NU. A common goal that united young professionals from completely different fields was to create an effective platform for interaction between young researchers in Kazakhstan and abroad.
