Thirty 6th grade pupils from Kazakhstani schools took part in a study on shadow education that was conducted by NU professor Anas Hajar. Over the course of one year, students shared their experiences and opinions about private tutoring in Kazakhstan.

NU students Diaz Takenov and Aruzhan Meirkhanova will undergo a one-day internship at the embassies of the Netherlands and Germany. This internship is the prize for winning 1st and 2nd place in an essay competition that was organized this past summer by the Department of Political Science and International Relations (PSIR) at NU’s School of Sciences and Humanities (SSH).

October 20 is “World Osteoporosis Day” designated for raising global awareness of the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of osteoporosis. This is a chronic progressive skeletal disease in which the density and structure of bone tissue is impaired.

On October 15-16, 2020, the Graduate School of Public Policy of NU (NU GSPP) held the fourth annual conference on the topic: “Sustainable Development Goals in Central Asia and the Challenges of COVID-19” in partnership with the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy and the Astana Civil Service Hub. Researchers, scientists, experts, civil servants, students from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, Russia, Great Britain, Turkey, Greece, Italy, Canada, Slovenia, Singapore, Israel and the United States took part in the conference, organized for the first time in an online format.
