The First NU Workshop for Alumni was held on June 18th in Nur-Sultan and June 25th in Almaty. NU alumni had a chance to visit their alma mater, meet their groupmates, receive essential updates on University’s progress from NU leadership, and listen to speakers from Jusan bank, industry leaders, and management from NURIS Cluster.

The First NU Workshop for Alumni was held on June 18th in Nur-Sultan and June 25th in Almaty. NU alumni had a chance to visit their alma mater, meet their groupmates, receive essential updates on University’s progress from NU leadership, and listen to speakers from Jusan bank, industry leaders, and management from NURIS Cluster.

At the event, the NU President Shigeo Katsu, NU Provost Adesida Ilesanmi, the vice-president Kadisha Dairova, and the head of the Association of International Students (AOIS) Mohammad Habib Abdullah greeted all international students with welcoming speeches. Then, the NU President Shigeo Katsu handed the first Exceptional Graduating International Student's Award to an international student from Ethiopia, Kebir Mohammed Jemal, who has recently graduated with an honorary Master of Engineering Management from the NU School of Engineering and Digital Sciences (NU SEDS).

On June 17, 2022, NU hosted a debate tournament, "Seeing the Unseen," among students of the capital's universities, organized by the Debate Club Nomad student club with support from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). Twenty-four students from four educational institutions took part in the tournament.

The event gathered students, researchers, and faculty members in biomedicine, engineering, and biology fields. The book provides a comprehensive overview of the field of fiber optic sensors using an interdisciplinary approach that covers the fabrication of sensing devices and optical hardware, the functionalization to perform selective biorecognition, and the main applications of biosensors, with a present and a future outlook.

Yerlan Ramankulov, head of the National Center of Biotechnology of the Ministry of Health and Associate Professor at NU School of Science and Humanities, was awarded the Order of "Kurmet" for his great contribution to the socio-economic development of the country and special merits in scientific activity.

Yerlan Ramankulov, head of the National Center of Biotechnology of the Ministry of Health and Associate Professor at NU School of Science and Humanities, was awarded the Order of “Kurmet” for his great contribution to the socio-economic development of the country and special merits in scientific activity.

It is expected that such breakfast discussions will have the increasing involvement of the NU Community in the transformation process and strengthen confidence in change. These talks will also be a tool to communicate impactful Transformation activities and its results, keep meaningful connections with NU community members and strengthen the sense of belonging to NU strategy, values, and principles.

More than 40 participants and 50 spectators visited the Athletic Center to watch this tournament.

On May 1, within the framework of Kazakhstan People’s Unity Day, a historic event was held within the walls of NU – the first tournament in the discipline of International Taekwondo Federation (further – ITF) Taekwondo. More than 40 participants and 50 spectators visited the Athletic Center to watch this tournament.
