NU hosted a ceremony in recognition of inaugural President Shigeo Katsu’s remarkable 13-year tenure as leader. The event was attended by esteemed guests, government officials, and members of the university community who expressed their deep appreciation for President Katsu’s invaluable contributions.
Shigeo Katsu, the Founding President of NU, recently appeared as a guest on the popular YouTube show Baitassov Live. During the interview, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of NU discussed the university’s progress over the past 13 years, including its entry into the Times Higher Education ranking.
On June 10, 2023, NU Graduate School of Business and Duke University’s FUQUA School of Business signed a Strategic Partnership Agreement for 2023-2026. Within the framework of this partnership, events will be held aimed at improving the academic processes within the School, joint research, conferences and symposiums.
On June 10, 2023, NU (NU) hosted its highly anticipated 9th Graduation Ceremony, marking a significant milestone in the academic journey of its graduates. The grand event took place at the university’s Main Hall, attracting over 2,000 attendees, including the graduating students themselves, proud family members, esteemed faculty, representatives from government agencies, and business leaders.
The first Kazakh-French “Decarbonization Day” took place at NU, organized by the France-Kazakhstan Chamber of Commerce (CCIFK) in collaboration with JSC “NC “KAZAKH INVEST”. During the “Decarbonization Day,” a significant milestone was achieved with the launch of the Kazakh Green Hydrogen Alliance.
On June 8, 2023, Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), had a compelling, honest and lively discussion with the Kazakh youth at NU, moderated by President Shigeo Katsu. The conversation focused on paving the way to more resilient, inclusive, and greener economies in Central Asia and the Caucasus (CCA).
The delegation was led by Dr. Gang Tian, professor and Director of the Beijing International Center for Mathematical Research (BICRM).
The recipients of this funding are CodiPlay, a Kazakh company, and Tajikistan-based Zypl. ai.
NU, together with the European Association for Comparative Economic Studies and in association with the Harriman Institute (Columbia University) and the University of Bremen, conducted the 1st Conference “New Advances in the Political Economy of Development in Eurasia” as well as NU-EACES workshop as a part of it on June 1-3, 2023. It was a three-day conference with 9-panel sessions and 35 conference speakers.
The opening ceremony marked the establishment of a representative office aimed at expanding the academic opportunities offered by the university. One of the key objectives of this expansion is to introduce new training programs tailored for executives, effective managers, and businessmen.
