Nazarbayev University advances medicine and healthcare by bringing education, research, and clinical practice together. The University’s medical cluster, which includes clinics, hospitals, and the Biomedical Research Center, gives students opportunities to learn, conduct research, and apply their knowledge in clinical settings. NU graduates include physicians, researchers, nurses, and public health professionals working across clinics, research centers, and healthcare institutions.

Zhandos Bissarinov
In 2022, Zhandos completed his NU master’s degree in Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation. Before that, he taught medical English at Pavlodar Higher Medical College and later worked as a physician’s assistant in the neurosurgery department at the Mother and Child Center UMC. Today, Zhandos works as a rehabilitation physician at “Atlant” Center for Orthopedic and Sports Rehabilitation in Astana.

Aigerim Abdiorаzova
Aigerim earned a Bachelor of Medical Sciences degree from the University of Sheffield in the UK before continuing her education at the NU School of Medicine, where she completed a master’s degree in Public Health. She has more than eight years of experience in the healthcare sector. Aigerim is a Bolashak scholarship recipient and a co-author of international research publications in healthcare. In recognition of her professional achievements, she has received the “For Excellence in Healthcare” certificate and the “Best Specialist” badge.

Gulmerey Yeshengazina
Gulmerey graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Nursing, finishing at the top of her class and earning a place on the Dean’s List. At the same time, she worked in the intensive care unit at the UMC Heart Center. Together with her colleagues, she conducted a study on the knowledge of intensive care nurses and their adherence to evidence-based recommendations for preventing ventilator-associated pneumonia. It was the first study of its kind in Kazakhstan and could help advance evidence-based nursing practices.

Dinara Mukhadieva
Dinara researches reproductive health, connecting clinical practice with public health. Her research interests include IVF, fertility, and the experiences of women undergoing treatment. After studying abroad, Dinara completed a master’s degree in Public Health and a PhD in Global Health at Nazarbayev University. Today, she develops evidence-based approaches to fertility care that take patients’ real-life experiences into account.

Sadam Raziyev
Sadam earned a bachelor’s degree in Cellular and Molecular Medicine from the University of Bristol in the UK before graduating from the Nazarbayev University School of Medicine with a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in 2020. He then completed a residency in ophthalmology at the Kazakh Research Institute of Eye Diseases. Today, Sadam works as an ophthalmic surgeon, providing eye examinations, performing outpatient procedures, and carrying out laser vision correction.

Doskhan Kozhakhmet
Doskhan is an internal medicine physician and a graduate of the NU School of Medicine. He first earned a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, followed by a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree and a residency in Internal Medicine. Today, Doskhan works as an internal medicine physician at City Multidisciplinary Hospital No. 2 in Astana, treating patients with a wide range of conditions, from gastroenterological and nephrological disorders to rheumatological and endocrine diseases. He combines clinical practice with research and teaching. Doskhan takes part in research projects in nephrology and internal medicine, publishes in medical journals, and has also been teaching at the NU School of Medicine since 2024.
