January 22-23, 2018 the NU Library conducts a training seminar on "Media and Information Literacy" together with the International Journalism Center MediaNet and IREX Europe with the support of the British Embassy in Kazakhstan, as well as the Association of Libraries of Universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The aim of the seminar is to increase the awareness of librarians about information and media literacy, its promotion in libraries and library users' communities; increase knowledge of the media, Internet security; training in critical thinking skills and media content analysis to further transfer the acquired knowledge and skills to colleagues.

We are happy to share the great news: six out of ten winners of the 2018 Research Internships in World Laboratories competition, sponsored by the S. YessenovFoundation, are students of NU…and all of them are the students of the School of Science and Technology! The 2018 Research Internships program aims to identify, select, and support ten talented students from Kazakhstan interested in research and science.

We are happy to share the great news: six out of ten winners of the 2018 Research Internships in World Laboratories competition, sponsored by the S. YessenovFoundation, are students of NU…and all of them are the students of the School of Science and Technology! The 2018 Research Internships program aims to identify, select, and support ten talented students from Kazakhstan interested in research and science.

In 2017, NU students became winners of various national as well as international sport events. Men’s football team won the first place in FFA Astana Students’ League and took part in the Silk Way International Football Cup in Hannot city, China, and Women’s football team won the third place in the Astana Universiade Futsal Tournament.

The First NU day was conducted in London, UK

On November 22, 2017, the First NU day was conducted in London, UK. NU was represented by the NU Alumni Chapter in UK Aliya Sembayeva, Adil Zharmukhambetov, graduates of the first 2015 NU cohort.

On the 27th of October, 2017 the President of NU Mr. Shigeo Katsu sealed a label onto the first batch of the medical device HeartStitch KwiKnotTM that was assembled by the “Educated Medical Solutions” LLP team at the NU Technopark site.
