To support the State Program “Digital Kazakhstan”, within a three-month period, from February to April, NU faculty will give seminars on digitalization to RK government officials and representatives. The goal of the seminars is the development of abilities and skills for the digital economy and upgrading of digital literacy.

We are pleased to invite you to the ABC Weekend, one of the biggest events of ABC Incubation program for young entrepreneurs, students and innovators, which will take place on 16-18 February, 2018 at Technopark of NU. The program of the event includes pitching and team building master classes, seminars on such topics as “Presentation for the investor”, “Startup business model”, “Lean startup” and first stage of the selection to the program.

On February 8, 2018, Dean’s List Award Ceremony for SST students took place in the new Atrium of NU. 120 undergraduate and 20 graduate students received certificates from the hands of the Dean Vassilios Tourassis and Vice-Dean Michael Lewis.

We started new project on interviewing our students about their experience at NU (NU). Today our guest is Evangelos Mitsokapas, an Erasmus exchange postgraduate student.

January 22-23, 2018 the NU Library conducts a training seminar on “Media and Information Literacy” together with the International Journalism Center MediaNet and IREX Europe with the support of the British Embassy in Kazakhstan, as well as the Association of Libraries of Universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The aim of the seminar is to increase the awareness of librarians about information and media literacy, its promotion in libraries and library users’ communities; increase knowledge of the media, Internet security; training in critical thinking skills and media content analysis to further transfer the acquired knowledge and skills to colleagues.

We are happy to share the great news: six out of ten winners of the 2018 Research Internships in World Laboratories competition, sponsored by the S. YessenovFoundation, are students of NU…and all of them are the students of the School of Science and Technology! The 2018 Research Internships program aims to identify, select, and support ten talented students from Kazakhstan interested in research and science.

In 2017, NU students became winners of various national as well as international sport events. Men’s football team won the first place in FFA Astana Students’ League and took part in the Silk Way International Football Cup in Hannot city, China, and Women’s football team won the third place in the Astana Universiade Futsal Tournament.

On January 9th, 2018, a group of active students from NU School of Science and Technology (SST) has been accredited by the American Chemical Society as an International Student Chapter. – Just a year ago, we started collecting all necessary documents for the Chapter initiation.
