The program “Academic Leadership Institute” has been launched at NU, developed by the Higher School of Education of NU on the Ministry of Science and Higher Education initiative of the Republic of Kazakhstan. During the training, the management staff of universities – rectors, vice-rectors, deans and directors of departments – will update their knowledge and gain new skills and innovative technologies necessary to manage universities in today’s complex and dynamic environment effectively.

Under the order of President Tokayev, the 32nd Session of the APK focused on the concept of a Just Kazakhstan, with unity and stability at the core of the country’s development. More than 1,000 people participated in the panel discussions: Senior officials, APK members, representatives of religious associations, non-governmental organizations, the diplomatic corps, chairpersons of national and regional ethnocultural associations, and local and foreign media attended the event.

On April 12, 2023, the Counsellor and Deputy Head of Mission of the Royal Thai Embassy, Dr. Orathai Phubunlap Gunaseelan gave a guest lecture on topic: “Thailand’s achievement on the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG5): A perspective from the Foreign Service sphere of Thailand”.

NU recently organized a visit to Abai region. The purpose of the trip was to pay tribute to the renowned Kazakh philosophers, poets, and public and political figures, Abai Kunanbaiuly and Shakarim Kudaiberdiuly, who have made significant contributions to Kazakh literature and culture.

The Board of Trustees of NU, headed by Kazakh Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov, considered the results of the University’s activities for the past year and plans for the coming period on March 4, 2023. The National Bank Chairman Galymzhan Pirmatov, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Finance Yerulan Zhamaubayev, First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Timur Suleimenov, heads of several other government agencies, NU President Shigeo Katsu and other members of the Board of Trustees participated in the meeting.

Dr. Takao Toda, the JICA expert on Official Development Assistance (ODA), and former Vice-President for Human Security and Global Health of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) delivered a guest lecture at NU, on February 28.

Through the project, UNICEF and NURIS will support the development of and invest in new digital public goods (DPGs) and open-source IT products compliant with the Digital Public Goods Alliance’s (DPGA) global standards as approved by the United Nations Secretary-General. Young Kazakhstani developers and startups will be involved in running the project, writes Bluescreen.
