NU (NU) proudly announces the successful conclusion of the 2023 AAHCI Central Asia Regional Meeting, held on May 26-27, 2023 at the NU School of Medicine in Astana, Kazakhstan. This prestigious event, co-organized by NU in collaboration with the Alliance of Academic Health Centers International (AAHCI) and Corporate Fund “University Medical Center” (UMC), brought together academic health centers from the region and around the globe.

The forum titled “Shaping Higher Education in a Changing Asia: Creation, Integration and Innovation” gathered together leaders of 15 member countries of the alliance, including leading universities in China, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

The First Coronary Stents and Balloons Manufacturing Factory Opened in Central Asia

The first factory in Central Asia to produce coronary stents and balloons based on the technopark of NU was opened in Astana. Domestic production will allow local cardio centers to purchase medical devices 30% cheaper than similar imported ones.

NU Expands Academic Cooperation with Universiti Malaya and Tsinghua University

NU is expanding academic cooperation with leading universities in the world. As part of the Alliance of Asian Universities Forum, which is taking place in the capital, NU signed two cooperation agreements: the Memorandum of Cooperation with the “Universiti Malaya”, and the “Agreement on Student Exchange” with Tsinghua University.

NU Signed Agreements with Alstom and AirLiquid

On May 2, 2023, during the 15th meeting of the Kazakh-French Intergovernmental Economic Commission, agreements/memorandums of cooperation were signed with the French companies Alstom and Air Liquide. The signing of the documents is a measure of the implementation of the November 2022 Joint Statement of Cooperation.
