NU hosted on Dec. 1-2 the final module of the Executive University Leadership Program – a professional development program for heads of public universities in Kazakhstan, prepared by NU Graduate School of Education (NU GSE) on the initiative of the Ministry of Higher Education and Science.
On November 24, the first “Central Asian Kurultai of Social Entrepreneurs-2023” supported by NU Social Development Fund took place in Astana. One of the examples of successful social entrepreneurship among NU graduates is Maulen Akhmetov, Founder of “Kunde” Cafe at the University campus.
The representatives of NU’s administration warmly welcomed the esteemed guests and conducted a campus tour. Executive Vice President Kipshakov Argin, Head of the President’s Office Maksat Zheten, and Dean of the Graduate School of Public Policy Hui Weng Tat briefed the Saudi delegation on the structure, activities, and values of the top research university in Central Asia.
The lecture was held for the university community: students, faculty and staff. The Ambassador just arrived in Kazakhstan 1.

The new NU campus, located at Satpayev, 4a in Almaty and launched in June 2023, welcomed residents and guests of the southern capital on October 28. NU Day in Almaty was part of the university’s annual major recruitment campaign for prospective applicants.
NewUU, based in Tashkent, is a first partner-university from Uzbekistan. It is the first public autonomous university, founded in 2021 by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Earlier today, the university administration was alerted to the existence of a website, created by a student, that showcased photos of female students without their consent, encouraging users to rate their appearance. Swift joint action was taken by the Advocacy and Conduct Unit of the Department of Student Services and the Student Government to shut down the website, making it inaccessible to anyone.
The annual event took place in Marrakesh, Morocco this year, in collaboration with the Policy Center for the New South. The event coincided with the annual meetings of the World Bank and the IMF and centers around the theme “Improving Governance to Address Climate Change, Inequality, and Global Fragmentation.
As part of the MoU, the parties agreed on joint research collaborations, student mobility programs, faculty exchange, and participation in lectures, conferences and other academic events. As part of the Student Mobility Agreement, four undergraduate and graduate students from each university will have the opportunity to take part in the student exchange program at the hosting institution.
