Unmasking specific activities in glycan biomaterials for tissue repair – a sweet recipe for the sour body?

The Chemistry Seminar at NU will feature an invited research lecture by Prof. Chunming Wang from the University of Macau, PRC, on “Unmasking specific activities in glycan biomaterials for tissue repair – a sweet recipe for the sour body?”.

Prof. Wang, a full Professor at the University of Macau, leads research on tissue regeneration and cell therapy, with over 100 publications and two inventions translated into clinical trials. His work focuses on understanding the structure-activity relationship of glycans to develop therapeutic tools for regenerative medicine. In his lecture, he will discuss strategies to control polysaccharides like glucomannan and hyaluronic acid, chemical modifications, 3D printing approaches, and biosynthetic methods to harness glycans’ versatile functions for tissue repair.
