Main trends in secondary education of Kazakhstan were discussed at NU

Orientation towards meta competences, teachers’ professional development, transition from “education for all” to “quality education for everyone” as well as development of school management and ICT are all actual trends in modern secondary education. On December 20-21, 2018, NU conducted “The second training conference for PDP trainers” where the participants discussed teacher’s role in the modern society and visited master-classes on effective approaches and methods of teaching English.

On December 20-21, 2018, NU conducted “The second training conference for PDP trainers” where the participants discussed teacher’s role in the modern society and visited master-classes on effective approaches and methods of teaching English.

– Among actual educational trends preschool education can be highlighted as the most important element in human capital development; in addition, mandatory preschool education, high requirements towards teachers’ qualification and status; preschool education development via public-private partnership; applying assessment system for preschoolers; standardization of preschool education and rating, – was pointed out by Assel Mukhametzhanova, Deputy director for educational affairs at Educational Excellence Center of NU.

The conference speakers included leaders and researchers in the field of education: Serik Irsaliyev, the Founding member and the President of International University “Astana”; Duishon Shamatov, Associate Professor of Graduate School of Education, NU; Dr Tracy Ann Scholl, the Head of Innovative learning of NU; and Nurlan Imangaliyev, Academic Director of USTAZ Professional training centre. In addition, the course trainers and assistants, representatives of “Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools” and “NU” participated at the conference.
