A New Student Community Center Opens on Campus

A new Student Community Center has opened on the Nazarbayev University campus, located on the 3rd floor of Block 4.

On December 10, the University held the official opening ceremony of the new student space — the Student Community Center. The Center is designed as a venue for student leisure and informal interaction. The opening ceremony was attended by the University leadership, including NU President Professor Waqar Ahmad, Executive Vice President Aslan Sarinzhipov, Vice President for Student Affairs and International Cooperation Kadisha Dairova, as well as other representatives of the University.

The Student Community Center features dedicated areas for drawing and playing chess, spacious zones for media viewing, and an “Open Mic” area where students can try their hand at stand-up comedy and develop their public speaking skills.

Nazarbayev University follows the philosophy of the great Kazakh thinker Abai Kunanbayev, “Tolyq Adam” (A Complete Human Being), which emphasizes the importance of holistic personal development — encompassing not only knowledge, but also strong moral values. Guided by these principles, the University creates an environment that fosters students’ creative growth and strengthens a culture of teamwork.
