NU Vice-President, Dean of the School, Dr Massimo Pignatelli and Chairman of the Board of the University Medical Center (UMC) Corporate Fund, Dr Yuriy Pya, talked about the activities of the Center for Biomedical Research, NU School of Medicine and the successes of the academic medical cluster.

NU created its innovative healthcare system, which includes the School of Medicine, University Medical Center (UMC), and research laboratories, and has been a beacon of progress in healthcare. The internationally accredited UMC clinics and the departments established within the clinics provide students with clinical experience and are already in residency programs after graduation. NU’s academic healthcare system serves as a reference point for other medical universities and university clinics in Kazakhstan, a testament to the institution’s pioneering spirit.

The Ministry of Health’s shift towards supporting cooperation between domestic medical universities to promote joint research in the field of medicine and biomedicine in Kazakhstan marks a new era. The discussion on how cooperation, knowledge sharing, and implementation of scientific discoveries can enhance the healthcare system of Kazakhstan, improve the quality of medical services for ordinary citizens, and propel the academic medical community’s growth in the country instills a sense of optimism for the future.
