NU Graduates Selected for 2023 Presidential Youth Personnel Reserve

We are delighted to share that these outstanding individuals, comprising 8 graduates and a student, have been included in the 2023 Presidential Youth Personnel Reserve. This initiative, led by the head of state, aims to attract talented youth to the public administration system and cultivate a team of new managers across various fields.

Established in 1558, Friedrich Schiller University Jena is one of the oldest German universities boasting a prestigious alumni list that includes renowned figures such as Karl Marx, Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, Friedrich Schiller and Alexander von Humboldt. Today the university has about 18,000 full-time students, with 15% of international students from 120 different nations.

NU Signs an Agreement with Friedrich Schiller University Jena in Germany

NU (NU) actively develops and supports cooperation with local and global companies, and creates conditions for successful employment of NU students and graduates. HR employees from 26 employer partners, including Stadler Kazakhstan, Wabtec Corporation, Alstom, BI Group, PwC, Deloitte, KPMG Caucasus and Central Asia, Public Foundation "Teach for Qazaqstan" and others took part in the Employer Appreciation Event on December 14, 2023.

On December 19, a ceremonial presentation of the first Kazakh-English and English-Kazakh Oxford Qazaq Dictionary, developed by the International Society "Kazak tili" on behalf of the President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev, took place at NU. The event was graced by the presence of Acting President of NU (NU) Ilesanmi Adesida, Kazakh Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek, Parliament deputy Isa Kazybek Zharylkasynuly, British Ambassador to Kazakhstan Kathy Leach and Rauan Kenzhekhanuly, President of the International Society "Kazak tili".

On December 19, a ceremonial presentation of the first Kazakh-English and English-Kazakh Oxford Qazaq Dictionary, developed by the International Society “Kazak tili” on behalf of the President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev, took place at NU. He was previously Minister of Education and Science of Kazakhstan and was at the forefront of the team to create NU as a world-class university. The NU Board of Trustees also appointed new vice presidents:Darkhan Bilyalov, PhD in Higher Education.

On December 2, in an impactful development at the 28th Conference of Parties (COP28) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) NU and Khalifa University signed a momentous Joint Statement on Cooperation. This Statement underscores both institutions' shared commitment to addressing the pressing global challenge of climate change and stipulates a signing subsequent cooperation agreement.
