The title of the lecture was “Contested Space: Dilemmas in Global Affairs and Statecraft”. Hosted by the NU Department of Internationalization, NU GSPP Student Council, and NU Graduate Student Union, the guest lecture garnered considerable attention from the faculty, staff, and students of NU.

One of the significant achievements in this area was the signing of a partnership agreement in 2022 between NU and Stanford University as part of the StartX acceleration program, which expanded opportunities for startups in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. ⁣⁣“The StarX partnership with NU is helping us find startups from the region, come to the Silicon valley and find a home here.

The event was organized by SDSN Youth, the global youth initiative of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, in cooperation with NU and the NU Red Crescent Society. Experts on various natural disasters, including floods, earthquakes, forest fires and epidemics, gathered in an online and offline discussion to share their perspectives and assess the current situation.

This lecture was part of the Drug Discovery course for the Master of Pharmacology and Toxicology (MPToX) and Master of Molecular Medicine (MMM). Adam Aleksiejuk addressed a captivated audience of students, faculty, and industry professionals, outlining the critical role of generic drugs in enhancing patient access to necessary treatments.

In his lecture, Minister Sayasat Nurbek told the students about the achievements in Kazakhstan’s higher education system, highlighted the challenges facing it, and discussed the role of NU in this process.
