NU-Middlebury Intensive program of Russian as a Foreign Language launched at NU

Share this articleThe “International Student Program in Russian” in cooperation with Middlebury College started in the 2023 spring semester as a pilot project.
Students who want to study several courses in Russian enrolled in the “International Student Program in Russian” in January. The NU School of Sciences and Humanities has already hosted a small group of 4 students from various leading US academic institutions to study an advanced level RFL + Regional Studies curriculum adapted for international students by the SSH faculty.
“This program addresses a number of development issues for NU including, the potential for internationalization, and developing academic partnerships based on the established model and infrastructure. The program consists of a Russian language course and courses on the History and Culture of Eurasia. Apart from classes, the students visit extracurricular cultural events such as speaking clubs, theaters, and movies, lectures on Eurasian studies, and tourist trips in the region," NU SSH Vice Dean Andrey Filchenko told.
Middlebury College is the US leading and one of the world's top language institutes dedicated to offering language training in a number of world languages, including Chinese, French, Italian, Russian, Spanish, etc. Founded in 1800 Middlebury College has branches in 16 countries.
