Between November 15th and 17th, Nazarbayev University organized an open house event called “NU Days” in Almaty at the Q-lab projects facility.
Within the framework of this 3-day event, the participants had the opportunity to learn about Nazarbayev University’s Master’s and Doctoral programs, how to apply, gain admission, student grant opportunities, about the available campus facilities and educational conditions of each program.
Professors of Nazarbayev University held a series of lectures and master classes, and shared their discoveries in various fields such as artificial intelligence, medicine, oil engineering, business, education, economics, Eurasian Studies, and PSIR. Representatives from each school spoke about the academic programs of Nazarbayev University.
Terry de Lyon, Director of the Fukua Career Center at Duke University’s Fukua School of Business, which is a strategic partner of Nazarbayev University’s Graduate School of Business, was invited as a special guest and talked about how to find a place in a dream company with the help of LinkedIn’s social network. Students and graduates of Nazarbayev University presented on the startups they have created and shared their experience of how to get support for a project from the university and the Technopark.
Representatives of the School of Medicine told about the new generation of doctors and nurses, how modern gadgets can be used in the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease. Visitors also got to see a demonstration of work about rehabilitation for people who have suffered a stroke, specifically the project’s robot exoskeleton, which was created at Nazarbayev University. Professor Duekuang Lee, a lecturer at the Department of Construction Engineering at Nazarbayev University, shared the latest technologies in the construction of high-rise buildings and built a spaghetti structure together with the guests of the lecture to showcase the main features of engineering construction.
In addition, contests were held among the participants, as well as prizes and gifts with the NU logo were raffled off.
