The first Kazakh-French “Decarbonization Day” took place at NU, organized by the France-Kazakhstan Chamber of Commerce (CCIFK) in collaboration with JSC “NC “KAZAKH INVEST”. During the “Decarbonization Day,” a significant milestone was achieved with the launch of the Kazakh Green Hydrogen Alliance.
The recipients of this funding are CodiPlay, a Kazakh company, and Tajikistan-based Zypl. ai.
NU is an international English-speaking research university, one of the flagships of higher education in the country. This is the first university in Kazakhstan, whose activities are based on the principles of meritocracy, academic freedom, and honesty.
The establishment of the IHT Central Asia factory in Technopark of NU, which produces coronary stents and balloons, represents a significant step in the medical industry development and medical technological progress in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. The factory, which is unique in the country, contributes to the local expansion of high-tech medical device production.
Astana recently hosted the NURIS Demo Day, where 24 startup teams presented their developments as part of business incubation and acceleration programs in various fields such as EdTech, MedTech, FinTech, E-Commerce, IoT, and others. The most promising startups received pre-financing from NURIS, with amounts of up to two million tenge.
The first factory in Central Asia to produce coronary stents and balloons based on the technopark of NU was opened in Astana. Domestic production will allow local cardio centers to purchase medical devices 30% cheaper than similar imported ones.
“Artificial intelligence will make a real revolution. In a few years we will see huge economic disruptions and rapid economic growth for countries that embrace and lead this change, along with mass economic destruction for countries that don’t,” ISSAI director said.
President Katsu has answered a number of questions regarding the development of contemporary science, the research opportunities available through NU, and shared his opinion on what qualities can make future Kazakh leaders more competitive. “We have created a so-called post-doctoral scholars program where we try to attract back talented Kazakhstani graduates with doctoral degrees, and PhDs from Europe, US, and other countries and offer good laboratory conditions and research opportunities” – noted President Katsu.
On April 12, Kazakhstan celebrates the Day of Science Workers. On this occasion, Nurxat Nuraje, a Scientific Council member under the President’s leadership, Associate Professor of the School of Engineering and Digital Sciences at NU, shared his research on conductive polymers and other essential projects with malim.
