On September 1, 2023, the UMC Motherhood and Childhood Center celebrated the beginning of the school year for schoolchildren. As part of the event, the UMC Motherhood and Childhood Center received a visit from the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Tamara Duisenova, along with the Kazakh Minister of Education, Beisembayev Gani, Kazakh Vice Minister of Health, Dudnik Vyacheslav, acting NU President Ilesanmi Adesida, and Vice President for Medicine and Dean of NU School of Medicine, Massimo Pignatelli.

Distinguished by panel sessions hosted at NU and Astana IT University, the forum convened a diverse assembly, including educators, scientists, representatives from universities and research institutes, Public Council members, students, and both foreign and domestic experts. The grand plenary session, held within NU's main hall, commenced with a video message from the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Alikhan Smailov, who expressed his wholehearted support for the pursuit of scientific and academic advancement.

The Advancing Role of Education and Science: Highlights from the 2023 Forum at NU

The conference delved into the theme of "New Sources for the Study of the Altaic World," fostering enlightening discussions and exchanges. ITA has contributed a recorded presentation by Napil Bazylkhan on the recent (2022) archeological findings in Mongolia of the earliest runiform inscriptions in the Old Turkic language, including the earliest occurrence of the name Türk.

Candidates were assessed by their Schools or Departments and then judged by the NU Learning and Teaching Committee. The Committee had a difficult task to choose the winners as the process is becoming more competitive every year.

NU School of Engineering and Digital Sciences has been offering the Globalization and Engineering course as part of its Master of Engineering Management program since 2015. Back then, after teaching it for the first time, Associate Professor Maria Tsakalerou felt that major points did not come across as anything other than theoretical and abstract knowledge, so she searched for best practices internationally that have been effective in addressing the impact of globalization on the education, training, and practice of engineering.
