The event, organized by NU in collaboration with the Institute of Mathematics and Mathematical Modeling and the International Society for Analysis, its Applications and Computation (ISAAC), brought together more than 70 people – outstanding mathematical minds from 10 countries. In his welcoming speech at the conference opening, Kazakh Vice-Minister of science and higher education Darhan Ahmed-Zaki emphasized the importance of mathematical research in the development of modern scientific and economic processes and expressed recognition of mathematical scientists for their contribution to the development of science.

The delegation was headed by the Vice-Rector for Science of this Kazakhstani university, Alzhan Shamshidin. The NU Vice President for International Cooperation, Darkhan Bilyalov, welcomed colleagues, introduced them to the General Plan of the University campus, and invited the scientists to visit NU’s top-class laboratories.

NU always provides a platform for the expert community to generate ideas and exchange knowledge. On January 24, the guest speaker was Deputy Regional Director of the UN Development Program, Nick Rene Hartman, who visited Astana during a working visit.

The Kazakh Ministry of Education organized the Republican Forum of School Principals at NU. The school leadership from Astana, Akmola, Pavlodar, Kostanay and North Kazakhstan regions gathered to discuss current issues in the field of education under the topic “Modern school management: trends and future.

“NU and the National Academy of Sciences must strengthen cooperation to build up the country’s scientific potential,” said Dr. Kunsulu Zakaria during her visit to NU.

NU Graduate School of Education (NU GSE) in partnership with leading Finnish universities – Häme University of Applied Sciences (HAMK) and JAMK University of Applied Sciences (JAMK), launched a project to train university teachers. Supported by the World Bank and the Kazakh Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the project aims to introduce an enhanced model of teacher education and to adapt 30 educational programs.

Supported by the World Bank and the Kazakh Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the “ITE Model Implementation and Strengthening of its Content” project aims to improve the quality of teacher education in Kazakhstan. It will provide training to faculty members from 43 universities and 50 school principals.

We are delighted to share that these outstanding individuals, comprising 8 graduates and a student, have been included in the 2023 Presidential Youth Personnel Reserve. This initiative, led by the head of state, aims to attract talented youth to the public administration system and cultivate a team of new managers across various fields.
