On May 29, a delegation from the Socialist Republic of Vietnam led by Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung visited Nazarbayev University to discuss prospects for cooperation in science, technology, and higher education. The Vietnamese delegation was welcomed by the university leadership headed by NU President Waqar Ahmad.

The discussion was attended by representatives of the Vietnamese government, including vice ministers of science and technology, industry and trade, and foreign affairs, as well as other officials.
NU President Waqar Ahmad introduced the guests to the university’s history and development, its role in advancing science and innovation in Central Asia, ongoing research projects, and strategic development plans. He also expressed the university’s readiness to expand international cooperation with Vietnam’s educational and research institutions.
The delegation was given a tour of the university campus and research laboratories, including the Power Conversion and Motion Control Laboratory, where Vietnamese professor Ton Duc Do, who has been working at NU for nearly 11 years, presented his latest research and scientific developments.
