Share this articleNU hosted a seminar for vice-rectors for academic affairs and digitalization from various universities, as well as experts and researchers.
The event, organized by the National Erasmus+ Office in Kazakhstan, the Higher Education Development National Center under the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the Higher Education Reform Experts (HERE), focused on key aspects of qualification recognition within the framework of the Bologna Process.
The seminar opened with welcoming remarks from Kadisha Dairova, NU Vice President for Student Affairs and International Cooperation; Aleska Simkić, Ambassador of the European Union to Kazakhstan, and other distinguished speakers.
During the seminar, it was noted that Kazakhstan’s higher education system is undergoing a transformation aimed at establishing an international education hub, which will help expand the export of educational services. The Ministry plans to increase the number of international students in the country to 100,000 by 2029 and, within the Bologna Process framework, to ensure the global competitiveness of Kazakhstani university graduates.
Participants discussed topics such as Kazakhstan’s national qualifications framework, the digital transformation of qualification assessment processes in universities, the recognition of continuing medical education outcomes, and other related issues. The seminar marked an important step in aligning Kazakhstan’s practices with evolving European standards, especially in the context of rapid changes in higher education, including the rise of micro-credentials and digital learning formats.
