NU is distinguished by its international faculty, which includes 500 members from 50 countries worldwide. NU is a pioneer in reforming the Kazakhstani higher-education system by introducing international standards for teaching, research, and innovation. Our faculty and researchers have produced approximately 5600 international publications in the period since 2011. NU seeks the best faculty members from around the world, who will bring their expertise and experience to contribute to the development of our university and Kazakhstan.

Multicultural community

NU is a multicultural institution with the students, faculty and staff members representing 60 countries from all over the world. Research facilities

NU scholars conduct research in many fields and seek to expand human knowledge through innovation, analysis, and collaboration. NU provides opportunities for the faculty, employees, and students to conduct multidisciplinary research in the life sciences, energy, and other interdisciplinary sciences in 62 research and teaching laboratories located at NU schools, PE “National Laboratory Astana,” and PE “NU Research and Innovation System” (NURIS).

Funding options

NU provides research grant support for research programs. In particular, since 2017, we have supported faculty research through the Faculty Development Competitive Research Grants Program (FDCRGP). Additional support for eligible faculty is also provided by the Collaborative Research Program (CRP), as well as the International Interdisciplinary Research Program (IDRP). Career growth opportunities

NU always strives to provide a wide range of career growth opportunities for its staff that align not only with the University strategic goals but also employee’s individual development and career plan. Thus, we seek to provide a tailor-made career path for each employee. At NU, it is important to ensure the individual career development of its employees as well as to make working in our University appealing and comfortable to all employees. Corporate life

Life on the NU campus is not only about studies and work, but it is also about taking part in various cultural, sports, professional, and corporate events. In a nutshell, all NU students, professors and staff are a part of one NU community, working towards the common NU vision, mission, goals, and objectives.

At NU, we have five working days per week: from Monday to Friday with working hours from 8:30 to 17:30 and lunch time from 12:30 to 13:30. NU organizes various corporate events for its staff: teambuilding, Quizland, Nauryz, adaptation of new employees, New Year’s celebration, and university-wide events for both students and staff members: public lectures, seminars, discussions, cultural, sports, recreational events, and contests.

Health and Wellbeing

Health
The University Health Center (UHC), located on campus, provides services weekdays from 8 am till 8 pm, and on Saturday from 9 am till 1 pm. There is also a medical office on campus, which works through the night on weekdays from 8 pm till 8 am, and on Saturday from 1 pm till 8 am, and on Sundays and public holidays provides services 24 hrs.

Sports life
Physical activity, fitness, and sports are an intrinsic part of university life at NU. Along with obvious health benefits associated with regularly exercising, involvement in sports allows our students and staff to develop teamwork and leadership skills, to socialize across different social and ethnic groups, and make lifelong friendships.

NU provides a range of opportunities to the community to become more active and fit. These opportunities include attending sports classes, various sports сlubs’ activities, being a part of the organizing body for sporting events, and many other ways.

In addition to internal resources for professional and personal development, NU staff can also undertake external trainings, including programs with professional and academic degrees.

One of the learning opportunities for employees provided by the university is a fully-funded scholarship award: “Talap.” This scholarship finances master’s, doctoral, modular, MBA, and executive MBA programs, as well as research and professional internships.

Code of Ethics

The Code of Ethics reflects the values and behavioral expectations of NU community members, regardless of their individual role, position, or practice. It aims to assist members of the NU community to understand their ethical and behavioral responsibilities and to identify and resolve ethical issues that might arise during the course of their work and/or other affiliation with the university.
