Ambassador Rosenblum shared personal stories from his childhood and recounting his first visit to the newly independent Kazakhstan in 1992 and the cultural experience acquired during this trip. He emphasized the importance of the partnership between Kazakhstan and the USA, highlighting Kazakhstan’s unique location in Central Asia and its significant role in the anti-nuclear movement, particularly the Nevada-Semey initiative.
After the lecture, NU students had the opportunity to ask about the prospects for future educational partnerships between the two countries, regional security concerns, and U.S. policy towards Central Asia after the November 2024 U.S. Presidential election.
H.E. Daniel N. Rosenblum brings a wealth of experience to his role as an ambassador, having previously served as the U.S. Ambassador to Uzbekistan. His distinguished career includes positions such as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Central Asia and Coordinator of U.S. Assistance to Europe, Eurasia, and Central Asia. Ambassador Rosenblum’s expertise spans various domains, including labor union education in the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe, as well as legislative advising. He is well-versed in History and Soviet Studies, further enriching his understanding of global affairs.
