A team of mathematics students from Nazarbayev University (NU) claimed top honors at the Republican Mathematics Olympiad, held this year at the Astana branch of Moscow State University. The annual competition brought together students from nine universities across four regions of Kazakhstan.
Representing NU’s School of Sciences and Humanities, the student team secured first place in the team category, demonstrating exceptional problem-solving skills and academic rigor.
In the individual competition, NU students also achieved outstanding results:
1st place: Altair Ashurov
2nd place: Abuzer Abuov, Dilnaz Ualiyeva, Aizhan Kenzhebayeva, Rakhim Baimurzin
Honorable mention: Turar Zhalkul.
In recognition of this victory, NU will host the next Republican Mathematics Olympiad in 2026, welcoming students from across the country to its campus in Astana.
This achievement reflects NU’s commitment to academic excellence and its role in nurturing Kazakhstan’s next generation of talented mathematicians.
