The Asia Pacific Career Development Association (APCDA) is a U.S.-based nonprofit organization that brings together the region's career development professionals and provides a global platform for exchanging ideas, research and career development tools with various career professionals.
The Kazakhstan branch of APCDA is designed to shape career development approaches and improve the quality of career counselling, which will better prepare students for successful careers in Kazakhstan, promote professional exchange and collaboration, and strengthen the professional community by acquiring access to international resources and best practices.
The first official meeting of the Kazakhstan branch, held on June 18, marked a significant milestone in the journey of KazCDA. With the participation of 16 members of the association and representatives from 13 universities across 8 cities, the event underscored the widespread interest in KazCDA initiatives and career professional development across the country.
While presenting the branch perspectives, organizers outlined the benefits of KazCDA membership, such as free access to resources and materials, conference discounts, etc. The NU Career and Advising Center members also shared their insights on the recent APCDA-2024 conference.
As the organizers noted, KazCDA's first meeting was a significant step towards strengthening professional training and career development in Kazakhstan and beyond. In addition to developing educational and career programs, the branch intends to establish partnerships with universities and organizations in Central Asian countries.
