The International Conference on Academic English, as Maulen Ashimbaev emphasized, serves as an important platform for discussing current issues and developing practical recommendations in the field of science and education. Fluency in English is a key factor in a country’s development and economic growth.

During the conference, University of Reading (UK) Professor Liz Wilding, NU Vice-Provost for Academic Affairs Loretta O’Donnell and other experts in the field of academic English also spoke.

Every year the BALEAP Association holds four forums on professional issues. This year, one of these forums was held outside the UK for the first time. Kazakhstan was awarded the opportunity to host this prestigious event for the field of academic English teaching. The reason for this was the fact that since 2019, NU has been an institutional member of the BALEAP association, becoming the first university among the CIS countries to receive accreditation from the Association.
