The annual Majors Fair was organised at NU

Hundreds of first-year students and NUFYP students visited the Fair and learned about core courses, career opportunities, and research topics. They had a fantastic chance to talk to their future professors directly and ask questions.

Hundreds of first-year students and NUFYP students visited the Fair and learned about core courses, career opportunities, and research topics. They had a fantastic chance to talk to their future professors directly and ask questions. AAO fellows presented fun games, quizzes, and bingo cards while sharing their experiences and tips with the first-year students. Fair visitors could explore the special brochures prepared by Schools, solve the academic crossword and leave supportive messages to each other on the wish board.

During the fair, organizers held a fun contest where students had to collect stickers from each major by actively asking questions, solving physics quizzes, or engaging in other activities. The lucky winners were announced and received NU merch at the closing event for the day – the AAO Talks panel discussion.

AAO fellow and President of the Student Government Polina Len hosted the panel discussion. They asked questions about choosing the right academic path, a Master’s degree’s relevancy, and educational and career plans from Daniele Malafarina, NU SEDS Associate professor, Zhamilya Rizatayeva, NU SSH instructor, Tomiris Mashan, NU alumna, Edige Akimali and Rameshah Tariq, NU SEDS 1-year students.

It was a small event filled with wise advice and a warm atmosphere. The majors Fair is a significant event to support and guide students during their first year of university. We hope that everyone was able to enjoy and find answers to their concerns after this fair.
