Sixth International Energy Saving Forum Highlights Role of Energy Efficiency

In his welcoming address, NU President Professor Waqar Ahmad noted that energy efficiency and energy conservation are among the most pressing challenges of our time. “Real progress depends on collaboration and innovation. NU is proud to play part in these efforts. Through applied research, innovative projects and community outreach, we empower our community to address real environmental issues and foster awareness of sustainability’s vital role. Together we are nurturing a new generation of environmentally conscious leaders dedicated to building a sustainable future,” President Ahmad noted.

Forum participants explored energy efficiency measures, thermal modernization of housing in Kazakhstan, industrial decarbonization, achieving carbon neutrality by 2060, and strategies for automation and digitalization in the energy sector. Special focus was given to financial mechanisms and international experiences, notably those of Germany and Japan.

In his presentation, Omirzhan Tashimov, Astana Business Campus Chairman, shared the development concept for the Astana Business Campus Innovation Cluster Science Park and invited potential investors, partners, and residents to participate in the project.

The forum was organized by the Electric Power and Energy Saving Development Institute of the Kazakh Ministry of Industry and Construction, in partnership with NU, Social Development Fund, Astana Business Campus LLP.
