The South Korean corporation and Kazakhstan’s leading university signed a memorandum of cooperation, agreeing to collaborate on the Eco-Box project to enhance environmental awareness among youth.
They have installed special campus waste bins to dispose of unusable smartphones, chargers, tablets, accessories, and other small-sized equipment, regardless of brand. The collected electronic waste will be removed and disposed of in accordance with Kazakhstani legislation. As part of this cooperation, Samsung Electronics employees will also conduct lectures and seminars for students on handling obsolete electronics properly.
Samsung’s ecological project is already active in the ten largest universities nationwide, including NU.
