President of the National Academy of Sciences Reviews Research Developments at Nazarbayev University

On August 19, President of the National Academy of Sciences under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Akhylbek Kurishbayev, visited Nazarbayev University.

The visit began with a meeting with NU President, Professor Waqar Ahmad, where the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in science, technology, and innovation.

During the tour of NU’s research facilities, the guest was introduced to the university’s key scientific developments. Yerbol Absalyamov, Executive Director of the Institute of Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence, presented projects in the field of AI, including MangiSoz, Oylan, Beinele, and others. At the Renewable Energy Laboratory, Professor Nurxat Nuraje showcased the latest advancements in solar cell technologies. Akhylbek Kurishbayev also visited the Environmental Systems Laboratory and the Nanofabrication facility, where researchers presented studies on sustainable technologies and materials. The visit concluded at the Electron Microscopy Laboratory, where Aidos Baumuratov, Director of Interdisciplinary Research Facilities, introduced the latest achievements in atomic-scale research.

The President of the National Academy of Sciences praised the high level of research conducted at Nazarbayev University. At the end of the visit, Akhylbek Kurishbayev expressed his gratitude to NU scientists for their contribution to strengthening the country’s scientific potential.
